What started as an idea outside college in Shillong as a ‘Chai Ki Tapri’ is now a multi-crore business in Delhi. The brainchild of Arpit Raj and his friends, ‘Chai Seth’ has outlets in 27 Indian states. The business is booming by leaps and bounds.
New Delhi: It was the year 2015. 24-year-old Arpit Raj was pursuing BBA in Hospitality. During this time, Arpit used to roam the streets of Shillong with his friends in search of good food. Along with a busy curriculum, he had the burden of studies. He used to get free only late at night. By then, the city used to get dark. He did not get permission to roam around. He thought that when he feels like eating and drinking at midnight, there must be more people like him. With this idea, the ‘Chai Seth’ venture was started. Its foundation was laid with a tea stall outside the college in Shillong. Soon, it turned into a rapidly growing tea franchise in the country. ‘Chai Seth’ has 27 outlets across the country.
Arpit and his friends started a tiffin delivery service from their hostel room. It was especially for people looking for late-night snacks. Soon the boys shifted to a flat.
